Let's Learn Letters! Each week, introduce a group of letters to your students. Explain each letter's sound and form, using the alliterative sentence strips for reinforcement. Then, invite students to create their own letter cards to display beneath the alphabet line. Encourage them to create silly, unique drawings. For an added challenge, help students write alliterative sentences to accompany their work. Alphabet in Action!Separate the alphabet cards and sentence strips into two piles — one of letters, the other of sentences. Lay cards on the floor, or place on your bulletin board. Can students match the correct sentences to the alphabet cards? For an extra challenge, try playing a game of Concentration. Flip all the sentence and letter cards over, and see how many pairs students can uncover. |
