Bully Brainstorm
Talk about what is means to be a bully. What types of behaviors make someone a
bully? What are the best ways to deal with a bully? Ask your students to
brainstorm ways to effectively handle situations in which they are confronted
with a bully, and write their ideas on the story web (laminate for reusability).
Then, invite students to role-play scenarios where someone is being bullied and
chooses one of the methods from your brainstorming to avoid conflict.
Make Your Own Posters
Invite students to demonstrate their understanding of bullies and bullying
behaviors by creating their own posters to hang in your classroom or in the
hallways. Ask each student to develop a relevant message and create colorful
illustrations to convey the poster's theme.
