Celebrate Women's History Month with these student-created postage
stamps. Have each child research a notable woman and then write a short summary about the woman's life.
Next, instruct the child to fold a large sheet of construction paper in half to make a folder and glue his
summary in the folder as shown. Then direct him to cut out a copy of a stamp pattern and decorate it with the
woman's name and image. Have the child glue the stamp on the outside of the folder. Display the projects
and invite students to read each summary. To vary the display for Black History Month, have
students create stamps for notable African Americans.
