Reflect on one great year while preparing for the next with this easy-to-make display. Have each student create a list of his ten favorite memories from the school year. Then have him draw a small illustration next to each. Post the lists on a display and, if desired, include photographs of the events as well. Keep the display posted throughout the summer to welcome new students in the fall.

Reviewing verbs is the focus of this interactive display! Post two paper baseball mitts and label them as shown. Next, make a supply of baseball patterns and cut out the copies. Write a verb on each ball, being sure to include examples of both helping verbs and action verbs. Attach a small piece of the hook side of a Velcro fastener to the back of each baseball mitt. Invite each child to visit this display and place each baseball on its corresponding mitt.

Put up this display at the end of the year and leave it up for your class the next school year! To make an oven, a student cuts a square out of the center of a nine-inch square of black construction paper. Then he traces the opening on a sheet of writing paper. Next, he writes a paragraph within the traced area to tell students what he learned or did this school year. He sets the writing aside and tapes a square of plastic wrap on the back of the black paper to cover the opening. After he decorates the front of the black paper look like an oven, he trims around his writing and tapes it behind the plastic wrap. Display the projects on a board. If desired, add a chef character.

Number patterns are the focus of this interactive display! Give each student a red, white, or blue paper strip and a star cutout. On the paper strip, have him write a number pattern. Then ask him to write the pattern rule on the star. Mount the strips on a display and place the stars nearby. When a student visits the display, he reads the number patterns and uses Sticky-Tac to match each star to its pattern strip.
