Encourage your students to give some love to a family member on Valentine's Day with this sweet project. Cut a six-inch candy-kiss shape from tagboard for each student. Then have each student write a message of love on a 1" x 12" strip of white paper. Then have the student glue the message strip to the top of the shape. To complete the project, have him cover the tagboard shape with foil. Send each student home with his message of love, and encourage him to give it to a family member to show how much he cares.

Prior to making a windsock, a child chooses an animal to research and lists five facts about it on a large index card. To make a windsock, he uses a variety of art materials to create the animal and its habitat on a 9" x 12" sheet of construction paper. The child also writes the animal's name in the top center of the paper. He staples the paper to form a tube and glues paper strips to the bottom. Then he punches two holes at the top of the windsock and ties on a yarn hanger. He suspends the windsock and displays the index card nearby. |
