Forms of precipitation
To demonstrate understanding of the forms of precipitation, a student folds a sheet
of construction paper into fourths. Next, the child glues cotton ball pieces at the
top of each section to form four clouds. Then he labels the clouds as shown and uses
glue to draw each form of precipitation. For rain, the child draws drops. For snow,
he draws crystal snowflakes. For sleet, the student draws tiny round pellets. For
hail, he draws round lumps of various sizes. The student sprinkles glitter on his
drawings before setting his work aside to dry. Then he adds his project to a board
titled "Precipitation: Which Form Will It Take?"
